SPIRIT: A COLLECTION OF ARTWORK BY Q. WANG IS NOW AVAILABLE
Contemporary Paintings that Speak Cross-Culturally
California – June 21, 2011: A new artwork collection featuring the paintings of Q. Wang is now available to the general public. Featuring 44 pages of both acrylic and oil paintings, this collection of contemporary art entices the viewer’s imagination and is easily interpreted by all cultures regardless of their language barrier.
This is largely in part to the fact that Q. Wang spent the first half of his life living in a small town in China. He had the honor of attending one of China’s top ten universities, earning his Bachelors of Science in Biology. He later moved to America and began working in the computer industry. It’s during his time in the States that he found his love for art.
After Q. Wang spotted the printed works of the famous French artist, Maurice Utrillo, he decided to pursue his passion. He enrolled into the West Los Angeles College and studied painting under Professor Carlos Ramos, a Mexican-American.
The melting pot of influences has pushed Q. Wang to create contemporary artwork that is simple in style but complex in meanings. For example, his piece simply titled “Life” depicts a single plant among a canvas of grey-blue acrylic. The painting easily gives off the impression of hope by showcasing life growing in unexpected places, or the impression of loneliness and struggles.
Regardless of your cultural background or language, Q. Wang’s art will speak to you.
